Welcome to my travel blog – Not All Things Touristy!. 🙂

I am Lipsa, a social media consultant by profession. I live in the beautiful garden city of India, Bangalore, and I hail from the temple city of India, Bhubaneswar. I am here to share my travel experiences and get inspired by reading yours.

Traveling is something that I have been excited about all my life, as far as I can remember- be it going to a new place with my parents for summer vacation, or going for short day trips to waterfalls and beaches as part of school and college excursions. I was bitten by the travel bug since then! 😀

I can’t tell exactly how and when this idea crept into my mind, but I guess it happened over time. May be it started with my instagram account. Initially, I used this platform to share my personal pictures, but gradually it transformed to a venue to share my travel pictures.

Eventually, I felt like I could do more than just instagram, as every time I traveled to a new place, I would always come back with tons of stories for friends and family. Plus, whenever I would read other blogs, I always felt it was something that I could do as well to tell my travel stories to the world.

Finally, inspiration struck me after my trip to UK. There was so much write about that I thought it was the perfect time for me to start my own travel photography blog.

My blog is broadly based on three key aspects:

1. It is an attempt to share MY travel experiences, opinions and thoughts – things I liked, loved, or disliked about a place … Places that I thought were “touristy traps”, to places I felt were “touristy yet fun” and must-dos. My blog represents my personality and I am going to be bitterly honest. If there are places that I think are a waste of my money and time, I put it that way.
2. Apart from writing about the places I visit, I also talk about places that were my home away from home, modes of transport, eateries, general travel philosophies, etc. So, when I say this, I don’t write a mere hotel review, but I love to talk about accommodations, which add to my travel experience. For a finicky traveler like me, where you stay and what you eat, is also part of how good your trip was.
3. Like the old expression goes, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” One can ramble on and on about a place, but let’s be honest, what’s a travel blog without some promising photographs in it? So, yes, some of my posts are photo essays, where I let the pictures do the talking, while in most of my posts I like to showcase pictures that complement my travel tales. 🙂

Travel for me is all about getting the real essence of a place by experiencing the local lifestyle, cuisine and culture. I am specifically inclined towards places with scenic natural landscapes, history, and medieval architecture and towns, though I love to explore and try out new places in general.
